The Star Wars Zero Company devs hope to keep working on Star Wars
Earlier this week, reviews and playthroughs of Star Wars Zero Company began appearing online. The game, which is set to launch today, appears to be a big hit and has earned excellent scores: 86% on Metacritic and 87% on OpenCritic.
These are the highest scores the franchise has achieved in over 20 years. Even the highly acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor scored slightly lower, at 79% and 85%, respectively.
As a result, Bit Reactor, the studio behind Star Wars Zero Company, is very pleased with the outcome, while acknowledging the game’s few technical issues. The director states:
"It’s surreal. When you start making a game, you aim to make a game of the year, not a strategy game of the year, but a game of the year. That’s why you do it. But to see the reviews come in and kind of validate that feels good. So, yeah, it’s an amazing feeling."
Unsurprisingly, the studio has received positive feedback from publisher EA as well as Lucasfilm. It hopes to continue working on the franchise.
