No longer part of XBOX, Undead Labs continues to work on State of Decay 3. Scheduled for release in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, this cooperative survival game set in a zombie-infested world is preparing for new rounds of testing.

Following the alpha testing, the third installment in the series will enter a closed beta later this year. Players who would like to participate can sign up now. Registration requires a Discord account.

Kevin Patzelt, the creative director of State of Decay 3, provided some details.

"We’re going to be expanding our alpha and then closed beta to more players over time, this is our largest map ever and with untethered multiplayer, we really need to take the opportunities to stress-test and fine-tune.

If you don’t get access right away, rest assured there will be more opportunities throughout the year for players familiar and brand new to the series."
