To no one’s surprise, here’s yet another trailer revealed today during the Xbox conference at Gamescom 2026 with more details about a game.

This time, it’s Son of Thanjai that has announced a spring 2027 release, coming to PC, PS5, and XBOX Series, as well as Game Pass.

It’s an action-adventure game set in medieval southern India, a setting that’s particularly rare in today’s video games.

You play as Vinnendhiran, a crown prince who can no longer stay in the palace, shirking his responsibilities as he has always done. He will be confronted with the outside world, which has suffered notably from decisions made by men like him.

The goal is to dismantle an empire from within through cunning, terror, and the Surul Vaal, which is a flexible whip-sword inspired by one of the oldest martial arts still practiced in the world.
