Konami is in the midst of reviving its biggest franchises. Through remakes, compilations, and all-new games, the Japanese company has succeeded in honoring its legacy. And it likely won’t stop there.

In a statement, Hideki Hayakawa, Konami’s president, reiterated the company’s commitment to creating reboots. According to him, these projects are “important initiatives” for the company.

"Reboots of existing IPs such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Suikoden are important initiatives that serve as pillars of our business. At the same time, we have a strong desire as Konami to create entirely new genres and works."

Quite the innocuous media statement, really but one that may come as a surprise. Indeed, Hayakawa openly mentioned Castlevania as one of the franchises slated for a reboot. However, no such game has been announced.

Could he be referring to Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, scheduled for release on October 15? We don’t know yet.
