The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered gets a first gameplay on Switch 2
One of the main points of interest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered will be seeing the improvements made to the Switch 2 version compared to the Switch 1 version. On the Switch 1, CD Projekt RED’s title seemed to run only by some miracle, forcing the studio to significantly downgrade the graphics and frame rate. The result was still satisfactory on a console that was very limited from a technical standpoint.
Thanks to the Switch 2’s power, the developers have been able to significantly improve the visuals in The Witcher 3. A first gameplay clip was shown during a REDstream at Gamescom. We can also get a glimpse of the movement controls using the Joy-Con 2. A few bugs are visible in this area.
Otherwise, the visual quality has been improved, and the environments are more detailed. However, the frame rate seems rather erratic at this point. The Switch 2 appears to be struggling to maintain a stable 30 FPS. Of course, CD Projekt RED can still make improvements before The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered releases on September 29, 2026.
