Asha Sharma insists in her commitment to consoles and big IPs

Despite its recent restructuring and leadership change, XBOX is still far from meeting its goals. The latest financial results ended up being disappointing, but the company expects a return to growth for the end of fiscal year 2027.

In an internal memo obtained by The Verge, Asha Sharma, the current head of Xbox, reiterated the key pillars of her strategy. The company intends to work on "long-term plans" for its biggest franchises. The American publisher also wants to transform its decentralized studio system into a model "more focused around our strongest franchises and biggest new ideas." It also mentions movies, TV series, merchandise, and other global partnerships (including in China).

Among the main points highlighted by Sharma is the console, which generates "the majority of XBOX revenue and remains the foundation of our fandom." That’s why we can expected the XBOX platform, in the broadest sense, to be bolstered by the hardware side.

According to the latest rumors, the XBOX Helix is still scheduled for a 2027 launch.
