In a recent interview with Variety, Matt Booty, the head of content at Xbox, was asked about one of the biggest absentees from the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase. That, of course, is The Elder Scrolls VI.

Booty explained that he recently visited Bethesda Game Studios to watch a demo of the game. He stated that the sixth installment is " it looks amazing, and it’s coming along well". Regarding a future reveal, the team "will make sure to announce it and really reveal it at the right time." As a reminder, The Elder Scrolls VI was announced back in June 2018.

Additionally, Matt Booty was also asked about the absence of Marvel’s Blade. The title from Arkane Lyon could not be included in the showcase due to lack of space. The executive added that there will be other major announcements this year.
