Here’s something that’s going to sting, especially since it’s not the first time this has happened in 2026. According to the Taiwanese newspaper Economic Daily, NVIDIA is raising the prices of its GeForce graphics cards for the third time this year.

Following an initial increase of 10 to 15% in early 2026, then a second increase on the RTX 5090 models, it is now time for the third price hike. This decision is linked to the rising cost of GDDR7 memory, for which manufacturers (such as Samsung) have raised their prices. NVIDIA is passing these additional costs on to its partners, who in turn pass them on to distributors and consumers.

In response to these new price hikes, some retailers have begun building up inventory or temporarily suspending certain sales in order to adjust their prices. The latest models, such as the RTX 5070 Ti, are likely to see significant price increases. At some retailers, an RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB GDDR7 graphics card now sells for $1,581, compared to $1,064 in November 2025, less than a year ago.

This development also affects the GDDR market. For example, 2 GB of GDDR7 video memory sells for around $20, while a 3 GB version sells for between $60 and $70. This represents a threefold increase in price for a memory increase of only 50%.
