Can you name the game this game-within-a-game is from?
I heard you like games, so I put a game-within-a-game so you can… game? I don’t know, but I couldn’t pretend like there wasn’t an early 2000s joke in there.

Want to keep testing your knowledge of gaming trivia? We’ve got loads more PC Gamer quizzes, on everything from healthbars to weird currencies to absurd patch notes.
This week’s quiz is all about fun little derailments. Think minigames, but games within games and not Mario Party-style collections. I’m talking things like Triple Triad—Final Fantasy 8’s stellar card game that also made it into the MMO—it’s the type of sidequest you access from within your main campaign and suddenly the weekend is gone.
Sometimes they’re straightforward implementations of real-life time sinks like Poker or Blackjack. I can play an hour or two of those and wash my hands of it. Then there’s something like Gwent, which I cite as the reason why I still haven’t beaten The Witcher 3. You can’t just stick a card game like that into an RPG and expect me to not obsessively play for weeks on end.
So, if I show you a screenshot of a game-within-a-game, can you name the game it’s from? You’ve got 10 minutes to complete the quiz, and I’d love to hear how you did once you’ve finished.
