Things are looking grim for DON’T NOD, the French company behind games such as Life is Strange, Jusant, Lost Records, and Aphelion. After announcing a job-preservation plan earlier this week, the company is now sounding the alarm and preparing for numerous changes.

During the first half of 2026, DON’T NOD saw its operating revenue plummet by 56% year-over-year to just 6.1 million euros. Revenue was similarly affected, falling by 14%. Without sufficient revenue or external funding for future productions, the studio estimates it can continue operations until January 31, 2027.

DON’T NOD will therefore refocus its activities in France "around a single production line that includes the necessary skills to initiate new projects before the completion of the current production". In addition, the company plans to cut approximately 90 positions from its French workforce.

For now, DON’T NOD will do everything it can to stay afloat and avoid going out of business as early as next year.
