After announcing 3,200 job cuts this week, Asha Sharma, CEO of Xbox, has been appointed an advisor to the U.S. Federal Reserve—the central bank of the United States.

Sharma has been appointed to the working group dedicated to labor productivity. Her primary objective will be to assess the impact of AI. She will therefore be tasked with examining « the economic impact of new general-purpose technologies, including artificial intelligence, to inform the Federal Reserve’s policy decisions ».

The five groups will be tasked with « advancing the conduct of monetary policy ». Asha Sharma is the only active CEO to be included in these groups.
