AAA games are becoming increasingly difficult for publishers to turn a profit on. All signs point to this also being the case for Gears of War: E-Day, at least if we are to believe Insider Gaming’s insider Tom Henderson.

According to him, the budget for the upcoming Gears of War is said to exceed $400 million. This would place it above titles such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or GTA V, and on par with Cyberpunk 2077. In any case, this is a very substantial amount for a Gears game.

Furthermore, Henderson revealed that the decision not to release Gears of War: E-Day on PS5 was made five to six weeks before the announcement at the XBOX Games Showcase last week.
