The studio of Phantom Blade Zero isn't worried about the release of GTA VI

Originally scheduled for September 9, Phantom Blade Zero has finally had its launch date pushed back to October 29, 2026. This unexpected change puts S-GAME’s title just three weeks before the release of GTA VI (November 19).

Qiwei Liang, the game’s director, was asked about this by PC Gamer. He doesn’t seem at all concerned by this situation and also says he doesn’t believe the competition will have a significant impact on Phantom Blade Zero’s sales. For him, what really matters is the final quality of the game.

"Many people may think we have some marketing strategy to move it from the overcrowded September, and some are very worried that it’s closer to November.

We don’t think about any of this. We only think of the quality of the product itself.

[…] Only the product itself matters. So I would say 99% of the decision [was about] development."*
