Ubisoft apologizes after forgetting to put Heroes of Might and Magic III in its Steam release
This isn’t a typo or a translation error, but rather a fairly significant oversight on Ubisoft’s part, though it’s not a big deal.
On August 25, the publisher released the original 1999 version of Heroes of Might and Magic III for PC. The bundle includes the main game as well as its two expansions, Armageddon’s Blade and The Shadow of Death.
Or at least that was the plan. In reality, Ubisoft simply forgot to include the game as a purchased item when buying it on Steam. As a result, players who bought the game received only a 23 KB file that opened a command window.
The publisher quickly acknowledged its mistake and, of course, fixed the issue, although the game now has lower average ratings as a result.
As a reminder, a remake of Heroes of Might and Magic III has been announced for 2027.
