Many are expected to see the StarCraft shooter announcement during BlizzCon 2026, which will take place on September 12 and 13. We’ve been getting rumors about this project for a very long time, and it may be confirmed in less than a week.

During a recent podcast, journalist Jason Schreier discussed the nature of this title. Some industry rumors had suggested a possible Blizzard-style Destiny clone, featuring an online looter-shooter formula set in the StarCraft universe.

However, Schreier believes that won’t be the case. According to him, we shouldn’t expect this StarCraft shooter to be some sort of Destiny 3. It remains to be seen what this title will actually look like.
