The Soulslike FPS Valor Mortis won't have different difficulty levels on release

Valor Mortis is a highly anticipated title coming to PS5, XBOX Series, and PC that recently got delayed to October 13. It is a first-person Souls-like set during the Napoleonic era.

Szymon Bryła, CEO of One More Level, spoke with Insider Gaming about the game’s difficulty. At launch, players will not be able to choose a difficulty mode or even customize the game’s settings.

"No, on the day of release, Valor Mortis will not have difficulty levels. The overall difficulty level, in my opinion, is what it should be in any soulslike, which means challenging, rewarding persistence, yet clear and fair. Ultimately, everything depends on the player’s skill, but I feel we maintain a healthy balance here."

Bryła also recommends players to master the parry mechanic perfectly, just as in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The combat will also be very aggressive, in the style of Bloodborne.
