We’ve been hearing about a film adaptation of Sleeping Dogs for quite some time now. Actor Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Barbie) frequently shares updates on the project on X.

Once again, the Canadian actor is sharing more details on social media. He recently stated that the project is moving forward smoothly, as it has a director and a production company now. Negotiations have also begun with Square Enix, the publisher that owns the license.

As a reminder, the Sleeping Dogs movie will be directed by Timo Tjahjanto.
