Scheduled for release on August 20 on consoles and PC, Mortal Shell II is facing quite the unexpected situation. Publisher Playstack is being inundated with requests to purchase the PS5 physical edition.

A press release even had to be issued to address the looming global shortage of PS5 discs for the Souls-like action-RPG. Playstack apologized and added that it will be impossible to offer more physical copies before the release due to the manufacturing time required to restock.

Finally, the company says it is working with its distribution partners to try to find a solution. A restocking plan following the launch hasn’t been confirmed either.
