The Netflix presentation for GTA VI generated 100,000 new subscriptions in the U.S.
The major GTA VI presentation aired on August 27 was a huge event, with over 31 million views on the streaming service. The YouTube replay, meanwhile, has reached 26.5 million views.
Now, Ampere Analysis reveals that this extensive preview of GTA VI generated 100,000 Netflix sign-ups in the U.S. during the program’s exclusivity period (approximately six hours). This marks the third-largest spike in subscriptions to the service in 2026. The game outperformed nearly all live sporting events on Netflix this year.
Furthermore, 5% of users who hadn’t logged into Netflix in 30 days reactivated their accounts to watch the GTA VI gameplay session. This reactivation rate was described as "higher" than that for the series and movies available on Netflix during that period.
