The Fallout 76 PS5 and Xbox Series S|X versions are coming out this summer

It’s about time! Fallout 76 came out back in November 2018 and still hadn’t been optimized for current-gen consoles. Luckily, that’s about to change in the coming weeks.

Bethesda Softworks has announced that public testing for the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PS5 Pro versions of its multiplayer game will begin in June. The update will then be rolled out to all users later this summer.

On all these systems (with the exception of the Xbox Series S), Fallout 76 will run in 4K. All four platforms will also benefit from a 60 frames-per-second framerate, as well as improved draw distance and shadows. VRR will be supported on compatible displays. Note that the PS5 and PS4 Pro will support 1440p resolution, though the rest of the previous-generation platforms will remain at 1080p.
