Things could be starting to go seriously wrong at Bungie. The American studio is expected to be hit by a large number of layoffs very soon, and we’ve just received new information on the matter.

BFMTV reporter Sylvain Trinel says he has obtained additional details regarding the situation. According to him, internal resistance and strong opposition to Sony are beginning to emerge. Some people at PlayStation reportedly do not understand the decision to halt development of Destiny 2.

There is a sort of "desire for revenge" reportedly spreading within Bungie. Sony is said to be blaming the studio for some of its failures related to its GAAS strategy. Furthermore, the goal is reportedly to lay off 50% of the studio’s workforce.

Finally, Paul Tassi of Forbes explains that the success of the latest Destiny 2 update will not have a positive impact on the game’s future. Work on the FPS is well and truly over.
