The Blood of Dawnwalker Review: a solid RPG that does justice to The Witcher

Since its announcement, The Blood of Dawnwalker has, quite naturally, been compared to The Witcher 3. After all, Rebel Wolvess made up of former CD Projekt RED devs. In any case, the press has been able to assess whether this new title scheduled for September 3, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series, and PCproves worthy of the famous witcher’s legacy.

The Metacritic average for The Blood of Dawnwalker currently stands at 83% on PS5 (39 reviews), 83% on PC (16 reviews), and 85% on Xbox Series X (5 reviews). On OpenCritic, the score rises to 84% based on a total of 55 reviews.

This open-world action-RPG has some great storytelling, its graphics are beautiful, and combat is well-designed. The human/vampire duality is also handled effectively. The game’s also quite lenghty without being excessive.

However, The Blood of Dawnwalker does have its share of flaws, like the messy camera, a limited variety of enemies, and an uninteresting open world. It also suffers from performance issues and bugs.
