Just like the original Switch, Nintendo may soon be developing a new Switch 2 equipped with an OLED screen. According to ZDNET Korea, the Japanese manufacturer is seriously considering this possibility.

While nothing has been decided yet, one source states that the company could begin developing a Switch 2 OLED as early as the end of this year, with full-scale production set to begin around late 2027 or early 2028.

The console is said to feature a rigid Full HD (1920 x 1080) OLED screen that could be produced by Samsung Display. However, the console would become even more expensive due to the use of OLED technology—a factor that could prompt Nintendo to reconsider its plans.
