Nintendo has every reason to celebrate, as the resounding success of Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie grows stronger with each passing week.

The latest figures are in, and the feature film has grossed a total of $747.4 million at the global box office. The United States accounts for $355.2 million, and the rest of the world has brought in $392.2 million.

Adding the $1.36 billion from the first film, the Mario movie franchise has grossed over $2 billion. With just two films, the series ranks 10th on the list of the highest-grossing animated feature film franchises of all time.
