Although it’s part of a vast franchise comprising dozens of distinct entries (and that’s without taking spin-offs into account), Final Fantasy VII has always held a special place in gamers’ hearts. The trilogy of remakes, which will conclude on April 8, 2027, with Final Fantasy VII Revelation, has only reinforced this sentiment.

Square Enix fully understands this love for the seventh installment and therefore intends to capitalize on it. In a report, the Japanese company expressed its desire to develop Final Fantasy VII as a unique, constantly evolving franchise. The goal is to welcome new generations of players and new fans over the next 20 to 30 years.

Once the trilogy is complete, Square Enix could launch other projects centered on Final Fantasy VII. At this point, it’s impossible to know what form these projects will take.
