After being a regular at the show for several decades now, Sony has decided to skip CES 2027, which will take place in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9. This has been an earthquake in the tech world!

Last year, the Japanese company was at the tech trade show solely through its joint venture with Honda, showcasing its Afeela electric car… Which is no more.

This absence reflects a strategic shift within Sony, which now aims to focus more on entertainment content. Video games (PlayStation), music, and film are now core areas for the Japanese giant.

A Sony spokesperson issued a brief statement.

"We continuously and strategically evaluate our approach to events and communications based on the needs and priorities of our diverse businesses."
