Some publishers and developers are reportedly very upset with Sony following through with the phase-out of discs
The controversy surrounding the disappearance of physical discs is far from over. Many gamers disapprove of this decision, but this may also been the case with industry professionals.
John Linneman of Digital Foundry revealed in a video that many developers and some people at publishers are "very upset" with PlayStation’s decision.
"I spoke to a lot of developers and publisher people about it and they were largely very upset. A lot of these companies actually see a lot of return, and in fact the majority, through physical sales. I feel like this is really going to affect a lot of businesses.. […] The industry side of things is not positive right now about what’s happening."
Of course, Linneman did not disclose the names of the companies that reportedly disapprove of Sony’s strategy.
