First, patch 1.07 for the PS5 Pro version of Silent Hill 2 is now available. It includes numerous bug fixes, performance improvements, fixes for flickering shadows, and reduces certain effects.

The less positive news is that players wasted no time in reporting the issues caused by this patch. Just a few hours after its release, lighting issues (among others) began to surface. Some players are complaining about very low brightness in certain areas, while others are noting that shadows disappear at times, particularly during cutscenes.

Overall, the game’s “performance” graphics mode seems to have become unpleasant to play.
