Project Helix will not be at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026
In a recent interview, Matt Booty, Xbox’s head of content, revealed that Fable has been delayed to February 2027. In addition, the executive also addressed the matter of Project Helix.
So, those hoping to catch a glimpse of the console at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7, 2026, are likely to be disappointed. Booty clarified that the event will primarily focus on games.
"The focus is going to be on these games. We really want to focus on the teams and on the games, and this is not going to be a place where we’re going to talk about strategy broadly. There’s certainly some strategic things that are out there and things we want to bring clarity to, but the focus here is on the games."
Thus, the next Xbox console will not be unveiled until later this year.
"For the long-term, we want to make the right decisions – not fast decisions. "I can also say that there won’t be [Project] Helix news. Helix will not be in this showcase.
Again, we want to get everything about that right, so we’re really focused on the games now, we’ve got a great lineup over the next 12 months, and that’s what Showcase is really going to focus on. The broader strategic questions and anything to do with Helix will come at a later time."
