It’s the big day for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which launches today on Switch 2. We just got new videos of this version, and there’s finally reason to feel reassured.

The YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits has published several side-by-side comparisons to showcase the technical capabilities of this version. First off, it’s worth noting that, as expected, the Switch 2 performs slightly worse than other platforms. That being said, it still outperforms the Xbox Series S thanks to DLSS, which provides sharper visuals. Keep in mind that the 30 FPS frame rate leaves a bit to be desired in more open environments, though.

Furthermore, Oblivion Remastered also runs better on the Switch 2 than on the Steam Deck. Nintendo’s console runs the game at 900p at 30 FPS (with DLSS) in handheld mode (1080p at 30 FPS when docked), while Valve’s runs at 800p at 30 FPS (with FSR). It’s more optimized on the Switch 2. It’s one of the best options for playing this iconic action-RPG on the go.
