Microsoft will limit access to XBOX Cloud Gaming starting in November
Here’s yet another move that’s sure to cause a stir in the gaming community! Microsoft has decided to drastically reduce the benefits of XBOX Cloud Gaming for Game Pass subs.
Starting in November 2026, access to cloud gaming will be limited for all users. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play for 15 hours per month, compared to 10 hours for Game Pass Premium members and just 5 hours for Game Pass Essential members. Once this limit is reached, players will be able to purchase additional playtime if they wish. Prices may vary by region.
Additionally, users who are not Game Pass subscribers will also be able to access XBOX Cloud Gaming by purchasing playtime through the Microsoft Store. The American company estimates that these measures will affect 4% of Game Pass members.
Microsoft explains that it made this decision due to rising cloud gaming costs, which increase as the number of users grows. This will help sustain the service while continuing to invest in its reliability and performance.
More information will be provided in November.
