Final Fantasy Resonance gets 16 minutes of gameplay
Good news for Final Fantasy fans! Final Fantasy Resonance is back in the news with a 16-minute gameplay video.
Following a brief dialogue sequence, the video focuses primarily on a boss battle against Shiva that lasts about ten minutes. The purpose of this trailer isn’t to provide a broad overview of the game, but rather to highlight the combat system and its various mechanics.
Members of our party can equip the spirits of legendary heroes from the Final Fantasy franchise. Each spirit appears to have its own level, passive abilities, and attack skills, which enriches the gameplay possibilities. Some of these skills also trigger unique animations, and even a really beautiful CGI cutscene, adding a bit of dynamism to what is otherwise a fairly static battle over the course of those ten minutes.
As a reminder, Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for release on October 22, 2026, on PC, Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Physical editions are planned for the Sony and Nintendo consoles, but no information is available regarding the Microsoft console.
