When it was announced in 2023, Fairgame$ was billed as a competitive heist game with a formula pretty similar to that of Payday. After several years of development, turbulent playtests, and the departure of Jade Raymond, the game has clearly shifted its focus.

Now, Haven’s game is reportedly leaning more toward the extraction shooter genre and will include four distinct modes. Additionally, Sony has reportedly decided to adopt a free-to-play business model with microtransactions.

Finally, Fairgame$ is reportedly still causing internal concerns due to its strong resemblance to Den of Wolves, the upcoming cooperative FPS from the creators of Payday and GTFO.
