Elden Ring gets a patch that prevents players from sharing Switch 2 edition bonuses for free
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition came out on Switch 2 this August 28, and it contained a minor glitch that players exploited. The Tarnished Pack is a paid DLC that allows users to access the Switch 2 edition’s bonus content on other platforms.
Priced at €4.99, this DLC quickly became redundant as players had managed to duplicate its items and give them away for free to the community. FromSoftware therefore took action to prevent this practice with patch 1.17.1, released on September 8. This emergency update prevents the duplication of items from the Tarnished Pack.
"This update fixes an issue in multiplayer where, under specific conditions, DLC-specific items could be obtained when not normally eligible. No additional content is included."
