Square Enix has finally decided to revamp the twelfth installment of the Dragon Quest series. Originally titled Dragon Quest XII – The Flames of Fate, the game is now known as Dragon Quest XII: Beyond Dreams.

In a press release, the Japanese company stated that development has been restarted from scratch. The game’s logo has also been completely redesigned. A few gameplay clips were included in the video message featuring director Yuji Horii and executive producer Yosuke Saito.

All signs point to the release date for Dragon Quest XII: Beyond Dreams being quite far off.
