Development on The Elder Scrolls VI hasn't been affected by recent layoffs

Bethesda Game Studios is preparing for a pivotal period in its history by ramping up production on the Fallout franchise. Of course, The Elder Scrolls VI is also eagerly awaited.

The sequel to Skyrim, which was announced over eight years ago, is not expected to be released before 2028 or 2029. There were even some rumors pointing to a possible internal delay due to the layoffs carried out by Xbox this month.

Bethesda addressed this sensitive topic while answering questions from “MrMattyPlays” on YouTube. The company simply stated that the recent layoffs have not impacted the roadmap for The Elder Scrolls VI. Plans for Fallout 76 are reportedly unchanged as well.

Additionally, Bethesda Game Studios hopes that the optimizations made to the Switch 2 version of Oblivion Remastered can be brought to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC players.
