After suffering a very serious injury during filming, actor Ryan Hurst had to step down from the role of Kratos in the God of War live-action series. Of course, the production team quickly began searching for a replacement.

According to Variety, former professional wrestler Dave Bautista is in talks to take over the role of Kratos. Throughout his film career, the American actor has played leading roles such as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy. What’s more, he also appeared in Spectre and Dune.

For now, Bautista has not yet formally taken on the role of Kratos. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement. Production on the God of War series is expected to resume this fall.
