Since its launch window is set for 2028, The Witcher 4 is not expected to be released on disc for PlayStation. Sony plans to discontinue disc production in January 2028. All games released after that date will therefore have to do without this format.

In an interview with The Game Business, CD Projekt RED co-CEO Michal Nowakowski was asked about this. He stated that his studio will have no influence over PlayStation’s decision. However, he promises that The Witcher 4 will have a boxed edition containing physical components.

Whether with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or Cyberpunk 2077, the Polish developer has always included a map, a compendium, or even a CD of the game’s soundtrack. Nowakowski implies that this will also be the case with The Witcher 4.
