CD Projekt RED believes it has permanently lost the trust of some fans due to the Cyberpunk 2077 launch
We won’t go over it once again, but when it was released in December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 was in a disastrous state, especially on consoles.
Following that tumultuous launch, CD Projekt RED worked tirelessly to improve the game. The game is now highly regarded by players, but the Polish studio is aware that it has alienated part of its community.
In an interview with Edge magazine, Michał Nowakowski, CEO of CD Projekt, even explained that the studio has lost the trust of some fans forever following this period, which he describes as "heartbreaking."
I’m not 100 percent convinced we went through the full redemption arc. I’m convinced that we lost the faith of some people indefinitely, and that’s a fair thing. But I do hope we will be able to make it back – if not with The Witcher 4, then with whatever comes next."
