Capcom announces that digital games now account for about 90% of its total sales

While many gamers have voiced their concerns following Sony’s bombshell announcement about discontinuing physical games, it’s clear that digital sales have largely taken the lead in recent years.

Capcom is living proof of this! In its latest financial report, the Japanese publisher revealed that 90% of its game sales are now in digital format. Thus, the company doesn’t expect any negative impact from the disappearance of physical discs.

At the same time, Capcom added that Pragmata has surpassed its expectations (with 2.51 million copies sold so far) and that the success of Resident Evil Requiem has boosted sales for the franchise as a whole.
