Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 releases on October 23, 2026
After a livestream that lasted most of the day, Activision has finally unveiled the first images of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
It’s now official: the FPS developed by Infinity Ward will release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC on October 23, 2026. This new installment will return to the franchise’s roots by aiming to be “realistic” and “authentic”. The campaign, which will be playable offline this time, will plunge us into a war in South Korea, invaded by North Korea under the command of a new leader.
"Set against a rapidly escalating global conflict centered on the Korean Peninsula, ‘Modern Warfare 4’ pushes the series into darker and more dangerous territory as a full-scale invasion of South Korea threatens to destabilize the world.
In this high-stakes narrative of unprecedented scale, inspired by current events, an explosive mix of political tensions, covert operations, and external interference pushes the world to the brink of war."
Multiplayer and DMZ modes will be included. The latter will be showcased in depth on June 7, likely during the Xbox Games Showcase.
