Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 were the best-selling PlayStation games in July
Since July 9, PS4 and PS5 players have been able to rediscover the first two installments of the Call of Duty: Black Ops series through simple ports. It was a low-risk strategy for Activision—and one that paid off.
According to Alinea Analytics, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was the best-selling PlayStation game in July 2026, with 8.2 million copies sold. It was followed by Call of Duty: Black Ops, with 3 million units sold.
The top 5 also includes Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (1.6 million), EA Sports FC 26 (1.3 million), and EA Sports College Football 27 (1.1 million). Meanwhile, Halo: Campaign Evolved has sold 351,000 copies on PlayStation. That number may seem low, but the FPS wasn’t officially released until July 28.
