Brian Ward, CEO of Savvy Games Group, has stepped down

Amid a period of transformation and growth, Savvy Games Group is undergoing a major change in its leadership. It’s worth noting that this publicly traded video game investment and publishing company is owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).

A former executive at Activision Blizzard, Microsoft, and EA, Brian Ward had served as CEO until today. According to Bloomberg, Ward is stepping down from his position. He is being replaced by Turqi Alnowaiser, the deputy governor of the PIF, who will serve as interim CEO.

Brian Ward issued a very brief statement.

"As Savvy embarks on its next period of transformational growth, this is the right time for new leadership for that evolution."

This decision comes just a few weeks after the announcement that the PIF would acquire Electronic Arts for $55 billion.
