Here’s a big discovery at Valve. A considerable amount of Steam data is currently floating around online. This file contains approximately 12 to 13 TB of data spanning a decade.

As a result, this content dating from 2003 to 2013 is now freely available for download. It includes both final versions of games and preliminary beta versions used solely for testing purposes. The general public has therefore never had access to this content.

For example, it’s possible to try out unfinished versions of Left 4 Dead, Portal 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Content from Half-Life 2: Episode 3 might even be included.

It’s important to note that this isn’t the result of a hack. The file in question was apparently made publicly available without anyone noticing. What’s more, it requires no password either.
