You sometimes need to be careful with games available on Steam. A YouTuber named Eric Parker reported the presence of malware in a horror game that appeared harmless at first glance.

This free game, titled Beyond The Dark, was released in December 2024 and had "mixed" reviews. According to the YouTuber, the virus embedded in the game was capable of stealing user data.

Valve subsequently removed the game from its store, but without making any public comments on the matter.
