Just under five years after the release of the previous installment, Forza Horizon 6 will take players to the roads of Japan on Xbox Series X|S and PC this May 19, 2026. Those who go for the Premium Edition will get to start playing this Friday, May 15.

In the meantime, the gaming press has delivered its verdict. Forza Horizon 6 currently holds a Metacritic average of 91% on Xbox Series X (52 reviews) and 89% on PC (38 reviews). Meanwhile, its OpenCritic score stands at 91% based on 68 different reviews.

Reviewers highlighted the game’s stunning graphics, featuring a Japan that is both realistic and incredibly entertaining. The sense of speed is palpable, as is the music, which perfectly complements the game’s overall atmosphere. We should also note the numerous customization options and massive amount of content.

As for the few flaws, we should mention the lackluster story missions and a formula that ultimately feels familiar.
