It appears that the return of a key character from the franchise is almost confirmed. Ezio Auditore, who appeared in Assassin’s Creed II in 2009, is reportedly set to appear in the upcoming title Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe.

Information shared by a user named Rogue—allegedly an Ubisoft insider—can be found on a subreddit. It reveals several details, including the name of the main protagonist, Anika, who is actually Ezio’s sister and will be guided by him throughout the adventure.

As a reminder, Ezio Auditore is depicted as dead in a short film called Embers (2011). So, if his return in Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is confirmed, he could very well take the form of a spirit or something similar, which would fit perfectly with the very dark theme of this upcoming installment.
