It is, in fact, April 1st, the day chosen to share the best jokes. It was in a similar spirit of humor that the studio behind the NieR games posted a teaser last night for a title called NieR: COSMIC HORROR.

Unfortunately, this post seemed a bit too believable and went viral within a few hours and garnered several million views on X. This morning, a new post set the record straight and offered an apology:

"The title ‘NieR: COSMIC HORROR’ announced at midnight today was an April Fools’ Day prank. We received a huge response and apologize for the commotion caused."
