Switch 2 sales surge 154% in the UK

Nintendo is currently dominating the UK console market by a wide margin. This performance is driven primarily by the Switch and, in particular, the Switch 2, whose strong launch has allowed the brand to widen the gap with its competitors. Conversely, sales of PlayStation and Xbox are reportedly declining in the country, further strengthening Nintendo’s dominant position.

A tweet by Christopher Dring, citing data from Nielsen IQ, reveals that Switch 2 sales surged by 154% in March, coinciding with the release of Pokémon Pokopia.

This situation is quite rare historically. Despite this success, some indicators remain mixed, particularly weaker performance during certain periods or in Western markets. This dominance could shift depending on upcoming game releases and the ability of Sony and Microsoft to bounce back in the coming months.
