Ubisoft may very soon make a major shift in its PC gaming strategy. The French company is about to put an end to a practice that has tended to annoy Steam users.

The publisher has revealed the Ubisoft Connect Services tool for Steam, which is being rolled out starting with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. This will allow the company’s games to retain save files, cross-play, and rewards without requiring users to download or launch Ubisoft Connect on their PCs.

The goal is to provide a smoother experience for Steam players. Updates and improvements will be regularly made to Ubisoft Connect Services, with more compatible titles to come in the future.
